The Taiwan Nurses Association (TWNA) successfully hosts the International Nursing Professional Forum on November 28, echoing the 2025 ICN theme “Our Nurses. Our Future. Caring for nurses strengthens economies.”

The forum featured insights from international and local experts on musculoskeletal injury prevention, post-pandemic workplace resilience, and self-compassion. Participants gained practical strategies to support nurses’ well-being and strengthen professional resilience.

The event began with Dr. Soo-Jeong Lee, Professor of College of Nursing, University of California, San Francisco, who presented on “Musculoskeletal Injury Prevention Among Nurses”. Dr. Lee highlighted common musculoskeletal risks in nursing workplaces and shared prevention strategies grounded in international evidence and practical intervention models, earning highly positive feedback from participants.

The second session featured Distinguished Professor Sue-Huei Chen from National Taiwan University, who delivered a keynote on “New Reality of Clinical Workplace in the Post-COVID Era: The Roles of Psychological Resilience and Self-Compassion”. Professor Chen guided participants to re-examine post-pandemic clinical challenges through the lenses of mental health, resilience, and self-care, integrating scientific research with clinical experience to support nurses in maintaining stability and self-sustaining capacity in a rapidly changing environment.

Covering topics from physical and mental health to workplace support and sustainable nursing development, the forum offered rich and practical content. The event concluded successfully amid enthusiastic exchanges, and participants unanimously affirmed the high applicability of the sessions, noting their value in enhancing clinical care quality and strengthening nurses’ professional capacity.

TWNA will continue to advance international engagement and professional development, supporting nurses as they navigate the evolving healthcare landscape and work together toward a healthier and more resilient future for nursing.
