To fulfil shared goal and recognize that investing in young nurses is essential for improving health care, beginning in 2019, TWNA formally informed all hospitals and nursing schools in Taiwan to sign up Nursing Now: Nightingale Challenge to train their young nurses aged 35 and under with the knowledge of nursing leadership and management. It received very positive feedback and the expected goal of 200 trainees for the TWNA was already achieved. As of June 2020, 17 institutions in Taiwan have signed up to train 373 young nurses.
In June 2021, the “Nightingale Challenge (NC)” was relaunched as the “Nursing Now Challenge (NNC)”, aiming to prepare nurse student and early-career nurses with leadership knowledge and skills. To continue our efforts in the NC, Taiwan Nurses Association (TWNA) keeps passions to encourage hospitals and nursing schools in Taiwan to follow the new initiatives. As of year 2022, 10 institutions have signed up to train about 600 nurse student and early-career nurses.
