The Project on Quality Assurance of National Nursing Licensure Examination

To increase the quality of nursing licensure examination, in 2021, TWNA collaborated with Examination Yuan, Ministry of Examination and Ministry of Health and Welfare to launch a Project on Quality Assurance of National Nursing Licensure Examination. The purposes of this project were to: 

  1. Refine the Core Competency of Registered Nurses.
  2. Enrich Talent Pool of Nurse Experts of Question Drafting and Review for National Nursing Licensure Examination.
  3. Enhance the Quality of Examination Questions.

Based on the consensus reached among the industry, government and academia, the number of questions for all subjects was reduced to 50 in order to enhance the quality of the RN examination questions, and to meet the core competencies required for the clinical practice of nurses, and hence serving as an effective means of selection for qualified nurses needed in the healthcare workplace.

Other achievements:

The Ministry of Examination has made announcement on the implementation of computerized tests for the RN Licensure Examinations in 2024.
